Vancouver XXI Winter Olympic Games (2010)
The British Columbian Capital, Vancouver was the host for the 2010 Winter Olympics, in conjunction with the mountain venues at Whistler.
Eclipse provided 2 crew at a number of sites around Vancouver, looking after wireless transmission equipment on the Speed Skating Rail Camera, a camera in a little cone in the middle of the speed skating track, radio cameras at Short Track Speed Skating, Figure Skating & Curling.
We also provided a more complex wireless link from a ferry boat crossing the river between Vancouver and North Vancouver. This involved 2 receive sites, one on each side of the river, on top of two tall buildings. These were linked via fibre optic cables through the local telecommunications networks there, which were automatically switched, depending upon which site had the better RF reception at any given point.
